I recently purchased a used, but perfect 97 stang and it has the factory anti-theft alarm. The alarm horn has been disconnected and as i looked further i understand why. whenever i open the drivers door the dome light and all the marker lights flash 15 times then stop. this does not effect my ability to start the car at all therefore i'm thinking it's not the transponder key. does anyone have a thought or have you had the same problem? let me know, i'm desperately seeking help to stop the flashing. ive been told that it may be the on-board module that i need to have it reset...any thoughts?

My 2001 Mustang GT did the same thing. It turned out that the horn had broken off it base and was hanging down. I would turn on the alarm without knowing it and the lights would flash but no siren or horn was heard. I bought this car two days ago. The alarm switch has the images faded. I wasn't sure which button did what.
