Default Help - confused over ignition wire hype

Well, it looks like I,m in the market for a good set of ignition wires but there is a lot of crap out there[X(]

Found that one of my ignition wires measured 2.61 million ohms !!!!! [:@]

I found it because I decided to install a set of standard Autolote plugs to see if there was any change compared to the split fires ( 16k miles ) I had been keeping an eye on plug color, gas mileage and noticing an unburnt fuel odor when idling.

Back to the wires........ while the other wires mesure a few thosusnd ohms each depending on how long they are, the one wire is way high. I suspect it may cause part of the stuff I have been noticing.

I'm not an expert but know enough to be dangerous so when I see the claims made by wires manufacturers I get somewhat confused.

There are plenty of replacememnt wire sets out there - Autozone, Advance auto etc. all seem to tbe silicone supression wire bla, bla good as or better than OEM

The question is: What do I gain if I go to something like a Ford Motor Sports wire set as opposed to an OEM one ?

thanks

I picked up a set of Ford Racing 9mm wires.

I'm not expecting magic results from these but just that they don't screw up anything with RFI and that they last for a while.

Anybody have any expereince with these ?
