What's that in the center console?
Ok, I read the manual cover to cover today, and there's no mention of what the access panel is for.
Thanks for the suggestion to try another forum area.

If you have an automatic and if it's the panel to the right of the shifter then it is to allow the shifter to leave 'park' without having to press on the brake. It is designed to allow you to shift to neutral if the shifter won't leave 'park' when pressing the brake. There's some sort of plastic apparatus you press down on that allows the shifter to move.
No that's not what I'm refering to. Inside the center console storage area there's a removeable plastic panel. But it doesn't really look like the small compartment behind the panel is for storage, but perhaps for some type of service access. Not sure though. Maybe I'll have to ask the dealer when I'm in for my first oil change.
I came across a link in this forum about the access panel inside the center console storage area. Is for the parking brake adjustment.
