what trannys will fit on a 93 f-150 4x4?

it has a t-5 that needs replacing now.

would a c6 or an aod fit?
any other 5 speeds?

Any tranny with an output shaft and tailhousing meant to mate to that transfer case. I'm assuming you have a Windsor...

i'm not familiar with ford tranny's. Do different trannys have different tailshaft lenghts like gm trannys? Or is every C6 or a t-5 the same? What would be required and how would I know?

Since you have a 4X4, you need a 4X4 transmission. Your transfer case is attached to the back of your transmission. The 4X4 transmissions don't have the regular output shaft and extension housing, they have a short output shaft and an adapter that mates up to the transfer case.
