In response to gvervoren.. The reason a new engine is going in is to same huge miles on it... The car is sitinG in my garage right now with only 5k on it.. Thats one of the MAIN reasons i bought it.. Once the value of the car starts tripleing and so on ill swap the engine once again and i highly doubt your car will be worth more than mine at that point.. The seats have already came out(swapped with corbeau vx2000 and fx1 seats and BADASS 5point harness) due to their excellent condition... So they'll basically be new and original.... Not to mention that between now and then it'll be fun playin with lil z-06's... haha..

(not sure if im going with a SHM 4.6 or a Teksid engine yet...dunno the differences as of right now) but for the main parts...and yes...im going broke because of it

Aluminum Block^^ fully blueprinted and prepped, Darton Wet Sleeve bored 3.700
VTengines billet crank (stock stroke, fully worked, winged and balanced and having the nose snubbed for dry sump)
Crower custom titanium connecting rods (most likely an H-beam style)
DSS forged pistons (with a reverse quench dome, diamond carbon coating from Arrow Precission)
ARP all around as well as Tri-metal bearings
Dry sump oiling system from SHM (4 stage)
DSS Main support system
SHM oil pan/windage tray
Any machining work probably done by DSS
-------------------------------------------------------
top end
Ford GT cylinder heads with minor bowl work and a 5 way valve job and polishing
Oversized Ferra hallow valves and titanium spings/retainers
bronze valve guides
Custom ground crower camshafts
Micro polished first and secondary timing chains
Custom Variable Geometry lower intake to accept a Ford Gt intercooler
matching upper manifold with dual inlets similar to the one on the FR500
Sequential turbochargers (low spool and a high spool so its practically a supercharger with 0 parasidic loss, to match the short and long runners of the intake)
custom front mount air to air intercooler (the GT one is air-water)

yes, dual intercoolers for a denser air charge and no, it wont be street legal

as for suspension, my IRS wants to see Kenny Brown if he'd start working his magic again...and assorted parts from other companies...but as for your solid axle, a higer spline limited slip or lockin diffy, hardned axles, stiffened shocks, springs, steer kits, etc etc depending on what you want with your car (Strait line vs. road race vs. street)...nice choice on wheels, Im a big fan of the split spoke so the Ford GT wheels would be nice if they didnt cost an arm and a leg

I hope you didn't think I was trying to be rude or anything because I wasn't. But honestly, what are the chances that after you put the motor in, the mods will stop there. Chances are you are going to want different gears, different exhaust and other changes to get the whole effect of the new engine. Stuff you probably won't be able to easily change back to stock. There is nothing wrong with that of course but that is usually what happens. That is why I jokingly said mine will be worth more. If you don't mod anything else, you are one in a few that wouldn't. As for mileage, I myself only put about 2k on my Mach in a year so your milage statement doesn't factor in too much. Besides, what will your odometer read in thirty years, that is what they are going to look at anyway. Not the fact that the motor was in the garage for twenty years with 5k on it. The car will still have who knows how many miles on it. In thirty years, my odometer might read 90k, what will yours read? Again I am not trying to be rude but those are the facts.

The cars on Barret Jackson probably could have sold for more if they were completely stock though. I know exactly what you are saying about the way people come across on forums. Sometimes when you joke around with someone, they think you are being an a$$ cause like you said, you don't know what tone people are using when it is in writing. Me personnley, I try to be nice to everyone regardless the situation.

P.S. I guess you could roll back the odometer but that would be cheating. [sm=icon_beat.gif] LOL

you got that right with the loss of luxuries, but i dont know what the rods are gonna cost me (thats the biggest $$$ i think), im guessin bout $7K for the short and another $3-$5k on the top end...then turbos and then the rest of the car...yeah i know thats a pretty penny...but like u said...its my passion (im currently revising my choices of parts to include any prep needed) overall cost may go down too cause i got plans on attending UTI or Wyotech soon depending on which classes are available during my off time (its all on a student loan)

oh and no...twin turbo build like this is not going to make 1000+ horsepower, more around 750, i just need the turbos cause you cant n/a a modular to those numbers (well without a 14:1+ compression ratio)...maybe 6-8 pounds of boost at most.

YEA.. THE TURBO SETUP IM GOING FOR IS COSTING 8K AND I REALLY DONT EVEN WANT TO WRITE OUT HOW MUCH THE REST OF THE CARS GONNA COST.. HAHA... I THOUGHT I HAD ENOUGH SAVED UP BUT IM ACTUALLY GONNA HAVE TO APPLY FOR A BANK LOAN.. OH WELL... AND ON THE WHOLE UTI AND WYOTECH.... I'VE HEARD FROM QUITE A FEW PPL. THAT ITS NOT WORHT THE MONEY OR TIME... WELL UNLESS YOU'RE GOING FOR REMOLDING.. OTHER THAN THAT ITS PRETTY MUCH REVIEW ON STUFF YOU SOUND LIKE YOU ALREADY KNOW.. IF I WERE YOU I'D CHECK INTO THAT A LIL MORE BEFORE I PUT MONEY DOWN ON THAT, THAT COULD BE BETTER SPENT ON MY STANG... AND HAVE YOU HAD A LOOK AT THE UP COMING MUSTANGS... IT REALLY KILLED ME WHEN THEY DECIDED TO KILL OFF SVT BUT THEY HAVE SOME GOOD THINGS COMING UP... FOR EXAMPLE.. THE NEW V-6 WITH BE GETTIN BUMPED UP TO A NICE 3.5L 280 HP ENGINE.. AND THE RETURN OF THE BULLIT IN 08'... SORRY... I KNOW I KINDA WENT OFF TRACK..
