ask any decent mechanic and they will say that gears are extremely tricky to set up correctly. you mess up either way and you will have problems, they have to be perfect. and if they are new gears, you probably shouldnt have been romping on your car, they need at least 200 miles break in, and then change the fluid check/reset if necessary.

i really like how they warned me of that. and no the body shop didnt do the rear end work, he has a guy come in from another shop intown that does that. just lately i have been not impressed at all with the shops work.

i work in a shop. i installed a set of gears uh matter of fact yesterdee. i just took the whole rearend off. Took out my welder and hammer and just welded and hammered them sumbitchs right in. Works like a charm

Yeah rear ends are touchy. Thank god they dont take too long though, thats the good part. And if you have done a few they get easier. Im just not sure what you meant when you said you pushed in the clutch and youre rear end stopped making noise?
