www.aedmotorsports.com, everything from DOM tubing to titanium plates[sm=smiley20.gif]...oh make sure to check with the sanctioning body whom your making the roll cage for to make sure it complies with size/weight/mounting points...if its just for the street i recommend following the NASA regluations...afterall its their business know what would support a roll over

oh dont get chrome moly, for it to do anything, you need to "normalize" it and you wont beable to do that so it's more likely to snap in a violent collision...even though it is stronger when normalized and lighter than DOM steel

DOM is fine unless you absolutly need the lightest weight possible, then chromoly is fine, but it costs more to buy and must be TIG welded, where mild steel can be MIG'ed. Check around your area for steel suppliers, we get all our raw material from a place called NAPCO, I am sure you have a place similar.

thats right, no weight difference, moly is stronger though, you can run thinner wall tubeing for the same strength as mild steel

Moly is definatly lighter, but it's not a huge amount. Maybe 10-15 lbs for a 6 point roll bar. However every little bit helps when you are trying to eek every last tenth out of a race car. For most street/strip cars mild steel is fine, plus the material is cheaper and labor is cheaper because mild steel can be MIG'ed where moly must be TIG'ed. For referance I charge about $1000 to bend and weld a 6 point bar, in chromoly plus the cost of materials, the same bar in mild steel would only cost $600.
