check your grounds. and yes it has 3 coils. it could be lots of things best off to get a repair book. ive heard of that happening but my 93 never did it. also doesnt have a dist it has a crank sensor could be that .

 

I had a 89 Olds Cutlass that did this and had to replace the engine computer to fix the problem.
