RE: jasper engines
not exactly like Roush and Yates, they are custom racing engine builders and Jasper does standard remanufacturing rebuilds. the difference in the quality is reflected in the price each charges, just check out the difference between Jasper and Roush.

RE: jasper engines
Jasper is by no means a performance engine builder, they specialize in cheap reman engines for repair shops - their probably the best in the business as far as selling stock reman engines though, but like all places they have their quality control issues. I've sold a few Jasper engines in my auto parts days and I can tell you that you need to inspect the engine for metal shavings etc. before you install it (I once raked out a handful of metal shavings from the bottom end of the motor).

RE: jasper engines
i worked at a gas station with a shop and one of the mechanics said jasper motors were junk. he said there cheap enough so the can put them in there customers cars and still make a pretty good profit. this is coming from a guy that has a 9 sec s10.
