Default Are these 1/4 mile times normal?

A couple months ago I took the car to the track and ran 16.1 in the 1/4 mile. I noticed my car running a little funny and changed the plugs and gas filter. This seemed to make the car run much better. I also removed the cats and installed an H pipe. Took the car to the track again and ran a 15.5 three times in a row with a trap speed on 88 mph.

I was wondering with 4.10's and exhaust, eventhough I have an auto vert, shouldn't the times be at least in the 14's? My car seems to be running strong with no trouble.

Thanks,

Rob

all depends with track & weather conditions and what elevation your track is at

After I went to Modular Mustang's website, I entered in my times and the times adjusted to about 15.1 with the temperatures. So is it kind of cheating to go with the adjusted time? What do most people go with?

4.6 GT with an auto and 4.10 gears should do you under 15 seconds in the quarter mile... I don't think that you will do much better than that. Did you experience any wheel spin, or make the run at high altitude?

I didn't have a lot of wheel spin off the line but it seemed my trap speed was low. I'm going to put a PI intake on this coming week. Hopefully I will trap at 90 mph this time around. The adjusted time is 15.1 so maybe I'll hit 14.9 after the intake is installed.

How are you staging? Are you stalling up the torque converter? Just stabbing the gas? May be as simple as needing a stall converter.

I wouldn't worry...My bone stock 5.0 did a 15.7 today [:@][:@][:@]

But it was my first time down the track ever and I was having trouble launching w/ a 5 speed.
