Default my car is hesitating!!!!!!!

hey everyone. i have a 96 GT, and it is hesitating when i give it gas. like, if i am in third or something like that, and i punch it to accelerate, it hesistates, and jerks kind of. but, if i give it gas slowly, it doesnt do it. at least not as much. it does it in every gear pretty much. i had the o2 sensor changed, the plug cables that came on it were belden cables. the mechanic thought that it may be the cables, so they were under warranty. so i got a new pair, and they were put on, but it still does it. has k and n air intake. just recharged the filter. um....fuel filter was checked i guess. any ideas? maybe the plugs themselves need to be changed? any suggestions would be helpful! thank you very much!!!

you really cant check the fuel filter, just buy a new one, its only like 15 bucks. My first car did what your saying first it was the type of gas i was running in it, and also when we pulled the filter and it was rusted shut almost, along with dirt injectors.

You just recharged the filter, sounds like you just oiled your MAF, Needs to be cleaned, CRC now makes a special cleaner that is safe for the heat wires, called CRC MAF Cleaner, DO NOT USE CARB CLEANER, BRAKE CLEANER OR THROTTLE PLATE CLEANER!!!! When you oil your filter, you need to let it dry for 24 hrs before reinstalling it, most ppl don't wait and end up with this problem. Happened to me as well, just cleaned it up the other day and the car is as different as night and day, more responsive as well. Clean it up with the maf cleaner and your problem should go away. You will need the MAF cleaner and a t-20 security bit and a steady hand. It is actually reccomended to clean the maf about every 6 months. If you cannnot get the MAF cleaner locally as it is a new product, go for the CRC small electronics cleaner, it is a different formula, but will still work in a pinch, just not as well.
