Default 87 ford 302 in 66 stang

i purchased a 87 ford 302 motor to put into my 66 stang. the 87 302 is a rear sump oil pan and my old 289 original motor was a front sump oil pan. will the oil pan fit alright or will it hit the cross member below. thanks for all replies, kevin

Just use the oil pickup tube and oil pan off of the old motor, if it was a 289.

Won't work due to filter?? The filter is in the same place on both blocks.

Well.....maybe I'm not understanding the problem. It just seems easier to change the oil pan than move the crossmember.

there's a company on the west coast that does all kinds of Mustang engine swaps and has all the things necessary to do them but I can't remembe the full name of it, it's West... something! you might try a google search under mustang engine swaps and see what this turns up.
