If you listen closely they say that they put a turboed skyline engine in the mustang they used because the engine reved to slow. What do yall think of that?

the skyline engine was only used for engine shots all scenes with the car driving are done with a v8 382ci windsor stroker

I, for the life of me, can't fathom ricers using a mustang for style in their movie...If they used a skyline engine why use a stang? Isn't the only reason left style? Would a mustang suspension be better for drifting??? Isn't this totally the opposit of the big wings and mufflers and neon and whatnot...
Are they pandering to mustang fans? Classic car fans (like they did in the second one)? Are they trying to start a new trend of restomodding stangs or other classics with more modern japanese engines?
These questions are bigger than me, I must consult my local clergy...
