it isnt a mustang but he is a good friend of mine. he owns a 98 accord v6 with an auto. as of now, his transmission only has 1st, 2nd, and park. reverse if hes lucky. wat could that be? hes stuck on needed a new transmission but i told him take it one step at a time it very well could be something a lot more simpler than that.

Honda/Acura have very fragile transmissions, hell they dont even have a true servicable filter. More than likely it will need a rebuild, could be a solenoid bad, but they are internal as well. A common source of damage is not stopping completely before changing directions, Some Acura's even came with a giant Stop sign on the rearview stating that fact and the warranty would be void if such damage occured.
