Default car dying

sorry about this because it's not a stang! my friend has an old firebird and recently when he would come to a light and try to accelerate again it would just die. it has done this a few times but now it won't even start up. recently we changed the oil and cleaned the carb and it was just fine for about 2 weeks. i'm thinking it could be the fuel pump?? any ideas on fixing this or finding out what it is is greatly appreciated guys!

Yeah I would say clean the carbs, but you said yall did that. try to run some gas treatment through the car i might clean out the lines and help clean the carbs.

Rebuild the carb, change the plugs/wires/cap/rotor, and change the fuel filter.
