Default Transporting an Engine?

In a month or so I'm going to be driving an engine out to someone, and was wondering if anyone here has any idea on how to do that? I have an '04 F-150, so I'm going to use that, but what should I put it on/how should I transfer it from truck to house? Anything else would also be appreciated...

Use an engine hoist to get it up in the bed, and set the oil pan rails down on wood blocks just high enough to keep the oil pan sump off the bed, then use some sort of rope or tie-downs and secure it to the truck to keep the engine in an upright position while you're driving. It would also help to put a wood block underneath the shallow end (front) of the oil pan to support it. That will make it more stable.

and you can set the engine down into a couple of old tires that will allow space for the oil pan and provide a little cushioning for the ride too!
