I fit 17x10.5's with 305's for track days, and I drive on 18x10's with 285's, going to bump up to 305's when they wear out. No issues with either one so far.

Will 275s fit on the front of my 04 GT? It's lowered about 1.5" from stock.

I've been running 275's in the rear with no problem.

Wheels are 17x9.5

Most likely, I'd say no, I run 245's on my 18x9 fronts, but I will bump up to a 255, I think it'll look a bit better. To go to a 275 with that drop, you'll rub and increase your turning radius most likely.

Well actually I take that back, but I'm leaving it as reference. A 275 may work, since it's only a 17, I know a 245 is waaay to narrow for a 9.5, so yeah, I believe the possibility us there.

Go to a reputable tire store and tell them you want 275's in the front, but you're not sure if it'll fit, better companies will mount them to make sure, and if they don't work, not overcharge you for the set that does fit. Try a Discount tire if you have one in your area, they're usually pretty good about stuff like that.

you guys think i can run 275 on 18x9 , with no problems that the tire might be to wide for the rim ?

A 275 wide tire fits the 9" rim but does the 18" wheel fit a lowered stang? Call or check with the tire rack on fit. They will tell you what 275's fit a 9"x18" for the front of a 2002 Mustang. Then you need to ask about the lowered part.

OR put this thread in the '99-'04 Stang forum. Mark

I'm going to takemy 275's from the rear, mount them up front, and go try some corners and bumps. That ought to answer the question.

People talking about rim diameter as if it applies to tire diameter crack me up. Tire diameter is rim + tire sidewall (width x sidewall aspect ratio).

e.g. 275/35R17 tire has a 275mm x .35 sidewall

You can get tires for a 20" dia wheel that are the same outside diameter as a tire for a 17" wheel... of course the 17 would need a tall sidewall (ugly).
