95' 5.0 seizes while driving
My 95' 5.0 5 spd. for the past week has been shutting off while idling only 5 minutes after start up, has been shutting off when coming to red lights, and nearly shut off when the rpms dropped suddenly while accelerating. I just had the clutch replaced with a centerforce dual friction and has less than 50 miles on it. The car before the clutch went in was sitting in my garage for 2 weeks. During those two weeks i would start the car in my garage just to let it run because it was just sitting. This is when i realized that the car would shut off while idling only 5 or 10 minutes. I had no problems before i took the car off the road for the clutch job. I am also having trouble starting the car, it will randomly turn over or not turn over when started. After sitting all night it will start up no problem in the morning, but after taking it to work and letting it sit for a few hours and then trying to start it after work, it takes atleast 10 attempts just to get it to trn over. The battery was replaced in august with an interstate brand battery. The only solution i could think of would be a bad alternator because of the way it shuts off at low rpms or at idle. The car has 129,000 miles on it and has run strong since the day i brought it home, any help with this would be appreciated i am willing to replace whatever it is on this car to get it running healthy, thanks, paul

RE: 95' 5.0 seizes while driving
try disconnecting the MAF if it doesnt die your best bet is the MAF, you can also try tapping on the MAF if it changes idle or dies the best bet is MAF, some parts stores have VAT-40's or AVR's that they can test your alt while its in the car for max output most of them can do a bench test if u take it out of your car

Kind of sounds like something didn't get hooked up or hooked up correctly on the clutch job... I'd check the o2 sensors, ect... Sounds like when the computer goes into the closed loop it's not getting a signal, or getting a bad signal causing it to die... Just my $.02...
