I recently bought a 99 cobra and i noticed that in order for me to put it in reverse i have to put it in 5th gear then down to reverse....because if i try to put it straight to reverse sometimes it grindes and it sometimes take about 2 to 3 tries till it goes in...wat do u think it can be?????

 

common in mustangs its no big deal... you'll find most people will say the same thing

 

Some times you gotta help the synchros catch up.

 

very common. just double pump the clutch, that works most of the time.

 

that is how its supposed to be the way the synchros are designed, mine does and it is a 86 fox, so u are in no worries now either double clutch or gently put it in, and it shouldnt go in from 5th like that ur tranny's should have a reverse lock out, mine does
