Beefier Rear End
Welp, Since I've got some VERY sticky tires now.
I'm lookin to beef up the rear a bit to compensate.
I heard Detroit Lockers are a must, how would this effect my street driving?
And also, what else should I do to help beef it up?

lol, just get an eaton posi and 31 spline axles with the eliminators and thats ALL you'll EVER gonna need. Realistically all you need is hardened 28 splined axles if your on a budget (I know you are).

This is what Im looking into getting. Pretty new on the market a friend told me so I looked it up and it sounds awsome. Runs somewhere between $500 and $600 for just the part.

well they need new products to increase sales..they also have an airlocker that does the same thing...let's be really most of us are on a budget ...aso use the 31 spline spider gears out of a 1/2 ton truck and 31 spline axle from a good speed shop and a new clutch pak,add 2 of the best of the old disc to the new set this will give you about the best rear for drag other than welding the spider gears together which you DON'T want on the street

Hey Grimace, I think us jeep guys can shove an Ox Locker in that mustang somewhere dont ya think? lol. If your gonna spend the extra dollar, dont use an Air locker on a mustang and Ill tell ya why. Airlockers kick *** on 4x4's becuase when your wheelin' its a good idea to change tirepressure often, and with the onboard air compressor which is required by airlockers, it makes it easier to air up/down. If I end up keepin my Jeep, ARB's are goin on the front and rear. On a mustang, I wouldnt want to install an airlocker and mount a compressor and all that crap (add weight and take space). Eaton makes E-Lockers now which are electronicly controlled instead of air controled. Baiscly you can flip a switch and your fully locked, and you dont have any airlines or compressor to worry about. The new Wrangler Rubicons have them in em and they kick some serious ***.

That link tells you how it works, not sure where to get it. Ask around at local performance shops. Im sure you could call Jegs or Summit too.
At least in the 4x4 world, nobody holds a candle to Eaton, Detroit, or ARB. They are the rulers in the locker world. Seems like Auburn is popular in the Mustang market though.
