ARB's.. hehe, I prefer OX though. Less chance of line damage. Yeah, I've noticed that in the Mustang world seems like everyone runs a Auburn unit. In the Jeep/Off road world brands like Detroit, OX and ARB dominate. I had a Detroit in the back of my Jeep, kinda quirky on the road, especially when shifting from 1st to 2nd. I can't imagine how squirly it would be with a V8 instead of a 4cyl.

Regular Detroits cost around $500. The electrac (electricly operated) I think costs around $800.

C-clips... in axles like the Ford 8.8 and Jeep Dana 35 on the end of the axle shaft where it goes into the carrier there are c-clips that hold the axle into the carrier. If you break a shaft ( don't know how common it is in mustangs, but it's pretty common on D35's) the axle shaft and wheel/tire will slid out of the axle tube. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong... C-clip eliminators bolt a flange on the axle shaft to the axle tube so your axle/wheel won't come off if you break a shaft.

you're close but not quite dead on with that explanation. the axles with C-clips have a roller bearing that is not pressed onto the axle shaft and the axle just slides right out if the C-clip is removed or the axle snaps under load. the C-clip eliminators use a press on axle bearing with a press on retainer which keeps the axle from moving on the shaft and the flange bolts up between the bearing and the axle hub to keep the whole thing inside the tube should the axle break.
