Battery shut off switch????
I relocated the battery to the trunk of my car a while back and i was wondering if i needed a switch on the back of my car in order to run at the strip. I ran it at my local drag strip once before but it was real busy that night and the tech inspectors didnt look it over that well. Any imput would be great. [sm=thanx.gif]
Yes, you do need a rear mounted battery shut off switch that shuts off the entire car while it is running as this is how they check them. You need to relocate the alternator charging wire back to the postive post on the battery so the engine can't run on after the battery switch is thrown to OFF or they will not pass you in tech. And if you don't have a trunk, the battery needs to be mounted in an approved battery box which is sealed and vented to outside the car with a of two hold downs, minimum hold down size is 3/8" diameter threaded rods too. hope this clears it up for you.
