Default car problem

hey i dint know wherre to post this cuz my car isnt a mustang...so i gave this a try.Well i have a 92 thunderbird LX and heres my problem. Ill be driving down the road and al lof the sudden the cars RPMS will jump and no responce in acceleration like its in neutral, then i let off teh gas and hit it again and it responds. Also if im going up hill ill notice a huge loss of power. Most everyone ive asked said its transmission is shot, but could it possible be ne thign else that might be a lil less costly to fix?

Sounds like a transmission. Is it a stick or auto?

Sounds like what my car was doing... It had bad plugs, wires, and a bad MAM. It was running REALLY lean (like omfg, that's bad lean).

Go have it checked out!
