'67 fuel gauge
Hey there, I have a bit of a problem. I just got my '67 coupe, about a month and a half ago. But I haven't had much time to work on it. There isn't alot of big things to work on, the biggest is probably the fuel gauge. It always shows on empty, even after I fill the tank up all the way. And I'm wondering how I can fix this? I have a chilton book on my car, but it doesn't show too much in to depth about my problem. (I'm only 16, and I'm still trying to learn about cars). If anyone could help me this would be great. Thank you.
try to see if the wires to the tank sending unit are connected back at the gas tank. also check for the same thing on the back side of the gas gauge itself. you might also try posting this same thread in the classic mustangs section so the guys there can maybe help you.
with a car this old, it could be the float for the sending unit has gotten a hole in it and is flooded so it don't float anymore and it will always read MT.
