Default Gears for auto

First off, thanks guys, I've learned a lot from these forums. Okay, what gears come in the stock 2000 gt? I want to upgrade gears but don't know much about the difference between the ratios and stuff. I have an automatic that is stock, I remember JD said I should get 4.10s before because I have an auto, why is that? What difference am I going to notice driving and why does the gears make a difference? THanks in advance!

4.30's for Auto
4.10's for MT

unless your a wuss then you can go

4.10's for Auto
3.73 for MT

4.30's on your car will make it feel like you just added 100 hp in 1st gear and 50hp in 2nd gear

first why worry about top speed you'll hardly ever get there with traffic.....I'd say off hand you have a 3.27 check the code....stick a 3.90 in it and be happy

You know, I've been breaking my mind trying to decide also, 3.73 or 4.10. I was wondering at what speed would I red line with each set. By the way whats the usual charge for installation.

Can you "fix" the tach with the Predator for gear changes?

4.10 period... only way to really wake up a stang.. esp an auto. and if your getting gears do yourself a huge favor and get a shift kit. transgo is what i recomend.
