Default how to identify suspension components?

i bought a '99 Mustang GT about a year ago and am now looking at possibly adding aftermarket springs and shocks to improve handling. the car had some modifications on it already including subframe connectors, and the current springs and other suspension pieces are painted red. i am wondering if there is a way to easily identify whether or not i already have aftermarket suspension components or not before i replace them. any information on the matter would be appreiated.

thanks.

Look under your car and see if other suspension components are different colors. But sometimes like my 2001 is all black except for the struts and shocks which are yellow.

Some aftermarket suspension parts will be different colors. You can also tell if you test drive a stock mustang than compare it to yours. The ride might be a stiffer
or looser than yours. My 2001 stang is setup on firm.
