on an AOD? if it is, and the tv cable was disconnected, expect a rebuild or replace. you can cook an AOD in nothing flat that way.

pull the stick and smell the fluid, if its really cooked you'll know it, but the small cable that goes from the tb to the side of the trans is the throttle valve cable, it controls the shift and operating pressures in the trans. It has a small grommet on each end which is usually the issue. One.95c grommet can cause a whole lot of trouble.the first thing to go would have been O/D usually, followed by everything but 1st and rev. If its only slightly burnt you may be able to get away with a soft parts rebuild on the trans. as long as there is no hard parts damage its relatily inexpensive. The best thing to do would be get it to a REPUTABLE trans shop and have them check it out.
