Help out a Camaro guy.
Hey guys I dive a 96 Z28 six speed and I need your help. MAC makes an affordable cat-back for my car, but I can't find much info about it. It uses a "Flowpath" muffler. Nobody on the Camaro forums knows anything about it, and when I do a google search all that comes up is MAC exhausts on Mustangs. So I assume that a lot of you might know about MAC exhaust, more specificly, the flowpath muffler. What I want to know is, how well does this series flow? From what I can gather it's baffled and tuned to sound good, but does that mean they sacrificed flow? I don't wanna end up buying some crappy Flowmaster knock-off that's gonna cork up my entire exhaust. Thanks for your help, see you on the streets!

Thats all I could find on it, thats from the MAC website. I'm sure you could email or call them and ask about the mufflers.

Well there isn't a lot of room under a Camaro for a traditional true dual exhaust,, as you noticed.
A friend of mine had an older Camaro, and he decided to go with a Supertrapp system. It's kinda cool, because the tailpipes ARE the mufflers. It's tunable by changing the # of discs in the exhaust, and sounded pretty good. Check it out

RE: Help out a Camaro guy.
Can "affordable" be translated to "cheap" for the purposes of this post?If so,you get what you pay for,so beware!I would stick with tried and true, widely known designs before making my car a test vehicle.
The difference in HP gains would be minimal anyway, the difference would probably be in sound quality and level. There just aren't that many choices out there for these cars. Not compared to Mustangs anyway.
Oh well, that's what you get when you have a car with little or no popularity.

It's expensive and will be too loud with headers.

SLP makes a nice system for the f-bodies. Have you looked into one of them?

Well the dig is kinda natural for some. I'm sure if a stang guy went to f-body central and asked the same thing he'd get raped!!!. Borla also makes a nice system but again, it's loud and $$$$.
G/L finding a set up though.
