That looks damn nice! Look it over and give it a test drive. A test drive can tell you a lot. Ask the owner if you can have it checked out by your mecahnic. Good luck.

run a carfax for sure. find out why it has a rebuilt title. That means the resale usually suffers greatly. Since mustangs are a uni-body, one wreck can tweak the whole care

That's a big 10-4! I forgot about CarFax reports. They offered the report when I bought mine; if they don't it's definitely a good idea to get one yourself. What is a re-build title? I don't think we have anything like that out here in Nevada. We do have Salvage Titles though. I would go to your DMV website and find out what is invlolved in a Re-Build Title. You may find a lot of answers that way.

yea a rebuilt title is a car that was written off by an insurance company as totaled and a rebuilt title means someone rebuilt it

In my state (Pa.), a rebuilt title is called a salvage title. The car has either been wrecked, or has been under water. If the car has been properly rebuilt from being wrecked, they can be ok. A flood damaged car on the other hand, will probably give you trouble the rest of its life no matter how good it looks. Also usually when you buy a car with a rebuilt/salvage title, you will have a hard time selling it later down the line, A lot of folks try to title these kind of cars in different states in an attemp to "wash the title"- that means for example: if you have a Pa salvage title for a particular car, you title it in Nj.. & then a couple of months later, you re-title it in Pa. It comes back to Pa. as a used car, not a salvaged car. It can then be sold as a regular used car. You have to wonder how many hurricane Katrina cars have had their titles shuffled around in this manner

You should call & ask your insurance company if they're gonna get squeamish giving you insurance on a savlaged car.. BEFORE you go check the car out. Maybe even give the insurance agent the cars VIN & they can find out more info for you

I would test drive it and put it through the moves, test it under hard braking and see if it pulls one way or the other, test itout in a hard turn and under quick acceleration. Take it to an alignment shop also.

It's only $3,000.00! If it drives well and you can insure it you'll have a sweet ride reguardless of what kind of title it has! If you wait too long somebody else will be driving it!
