One owner Mustangs
This doesn't fit the "Pool" format so I'm posting it as a topic.
How many of you are the original owner of your Mustang? (Or directly related to the first buyer and inherited the vehicle)
Give Model year (1965, 1988, 2002, etc.), build date if known, present milage, list major repairs/modifications, special comments that sets yor pony apart from the others, etc.
Just trying to get an idea of who owns what on this board. It seems that many on this board own their Mustangs for a time period shorter then a Britiany Spears marriage while some of us refuse to part with our car.

I'm the second owner of my car, not related to the origional owner, never met him/her anyway. I bought it wrecked and fixed it.
My car is a 2001 Saleen S281 n/a; build date:8/01 repairs: entire passenger side of car
mileage: 29k Mods (not including stock Saleen parts): 3.73 gears, CAI, Forged internals, ported and polished upper intake, 75mm T/B, steeda tri-ax, red LED underglow, ready for lots of boost!!! umm I have the only Saleen in my area, that sets it apart, not exactly an everyday car.
(also ordering:aluminum driveshaft, heavy duty clutch, flywheel, axles, and brakes)

1985 LX, 5.0 coupe, law-inforcement spec but diverted to private owner.
Special ordered Sept. , 1984, build date moved back twice because of CAFE law. Finally scheduled for build in March, 2005 but was deverted from run of highway patrol car order last week of Feb. Car delivered first week of March, 1985.
Presently over 203,000 miles when speedo cable snapped, lost track of the miles since (have the trans end in but haven't gotten round to pulling the insturment panel face to connet the other end.)
I have been the only driver to speak of, did let a friend drive it to a cruise-in to display beside my Aussie Ford.
Major repairs:
Heater core - Lost count. First replacement came a week after delivery (A/C selector valve making noise, tech poked hole into core during the R & R). Started blowing cores every 8 months, dealer refused further warrenty work claiming it was "Driver abuse" causing the problem.
Radiator - 16 years on the original, three on the used replacement
Exhust system - Three Dynow-Max cat back systems of 1985 style, the current 1987 spec unit is holding up much better (less moisture build-up?)
Tires - On fifth set. No, I don't go round leaving black marks on the pavement. And if you don't believe me then...
Clutch - ...replaced the original after 175,000+ miles.
Will I buy a new 2005? Well, maybe a 2007, haven't broke in the 85 yet.

Forgot to mention my car's claim to fame. Some of you might remember the late Jean Shepard, well-known writer of stage and screen fame ("Biloxy Blues", "Christmas story", and sometimes article writer for car magazines). Back about 86 he had a program on PBS and on one he decided he wanted to buy a bright red Mustang convert (to go along with his now famous Daisy air rifle?).
That was the excuse to get into Ford's Dearborn Pilot plant and film the constuction of the Mustang (not to be confused with the later film made by Ford). When the camera was in the body shop/paint area there was several views of a black LX coupe on one of the robotic body carriers moving through the room.
As the red convert came to the end of the "Tunnel" (with top down? Had to have been staged) the same black LX coupe with tan interior is the second on the line behind the convert. Between them is a silver coupe with red interior.
Behind the black coupe was an "endless" number of Highway patrol vehicles, silver-grey bodies with white tops and doors as I remember. The two coupes leading this pack were both deverted from the law enforcement order to get around the CAFE law requirements.
Just so happen that the salesman who ordered my car was a true car guy. While others told me there was no such thing as a V-* LX, or wanted to see if they could sell be one from their stock, ,this guy said, "Hum. Let's see if it is possible."
He got more carried away with the car then I did. He soon became, fittingly, the top salesman for the store, and later sales manager.
When I found out he did have "friends" at the pilot plant I had him find out if they could varify that it was my car shown in the Tunnel behind the one Shepard was claiming was built for him (which I never could verify).
Yep. Problem was that I din't have a VCR at the time and have yet to find a copy of the program. How many owners have a video of their Mustang coming through final inspection? I almost did. Just think, had the cameras been rolling I could have heard the first time my car started.
But knowing my luck that would be followed by the car being shoved off the line to the right, not the prefered driven off to the left.
(For you younger people, "The Tunnel" was the "birth point" of the Mustangs built in Dearborn, Final Inspection area, drive off the assembly line point. Now that the assembly takes place at the Mazda plant in Flat Rock The Tunnel is only memory.)

'88 GT bought new in November '87. over 108,000 miles when diconnected the speedo. too many mods to list here but you've seen most of them listed before. just installed a MSD 6AL ignition with a TFI blaster coil to see if this will improve on my 13.535 best ET. will find out tomorrow at the open bracket race accompanying the East Coast Truckin' Nationals at VMP. weather looks promising, high temp only predicted to be 65 degrees!
I'm the second owner of my car, don't know the former owner or anything, but they took hella good care of my stang. I've got an 00 v6- black.
I got her August 12, 2003 with 29,000 or so miles on her, and she's got 38,000 or so on her now.

92 mustang, bought in 99 with 50,000 miles from a cute chick who had to get rid of it cause it sucked in the winter. My major repair was replacing the automatic, 4 cylinder, 7.5inch rear end, brakes, and suspension with a 5.0, 8.8, 5 speed and all new suspension components.

Guess mines the 'Worst' here so far
I'm the THIRD owner of my car, A 92 GT.
Bought it back last September of 03 with 135,000 on the Odometer.
Second owner said he had the gears installed 2 years ago(when I bought it) and he never replaced the speedo gear...
So what he didn't know what the mileage was actually MUCH less.
For every 17 miles traveled I think it was around 23 on the Odometer
or something close to that..
So he racked up some Magic Miles on it.
Had a couple things done to it when I bought it, Gears was one of them, and a b303 cam.
Still running strong 9,000 miles later without any problems.
Done a whole slew of mods since i've had it for my first year.
Very fun car, but engine swap is comn soon

I'm not the original owner, but this one gets the best and worst purchase. I bought an 89 lx 5.0 strictly for parts, it didn't run, kid selling it claimed the engine was seized. Paid 300 bux, got it home, turned the key, heard a click from the starter, cleaned the grounds and fired that bitch right up...didn't have the heart to tell the kid, ended up stripping it for parts anyways becuae it was a pile of rust.
