Original laquer? Hummm, did they sell you the "bridge option" too?

Ford hasn't used anything but enamels and acrylics since the early 50's. EPA wouldn't let them shoot laquer, or enamels, in the 80's or 90's.

 

1992 GT. Red. Bought it new in 1992 from Sun State Ford in Orlando. Have been driving it every day (with the exception of couple of vacations that i did not drive it on). 135,000 miles. I noticed that one does not age so fast when he sees the same dasboard for 12 years. Mods: Small stanley hinge mounted to broken ash tray lid. Restretched arm rest cover over frame without old broken mounting plastic. After-Cat 0 back-pressure exhaust via mother nature corrosion. Heavy duty all purpose, sealed utility lights from K-mart which fit right into the former fog light area, they look exactly like the stock fog lights and have never failed in 9 years (the original glass lenses fell-off and were run over by their own car when the seal gave out) 5 sets of tires, three thick-filmed ingnition modules, three syncronizer gears (the last one a metal gear was used vs. the Borg Warner plastic one) One set of front brake pads compliments of years of fun & pleasure downshifting. Three fuel pumps (One in beckley WV while on na road trip. The only Ford Dealer in town did not have a pump in stock. I looked out on the showroom and they had one 5.0 Mustang (late 1993). After a little convincing and tears from my wife, the dealer removed it from the new one and installed it in mine! It lasted for 8 years). Also have WS6-LT1 Trans-Am, purchased new in 1991 w/ 160.000.
