i was j/w if anybody who used to have a 5.0, then bought a 4.6 regretted it ? im sure there a couple on here that upgraded, but, i was j/w if you all ever regretted it or not.

I've had both, and if I had to do it all over again... I'd probably have stayed with a 5.0 ... $25k + the 7k I've spent in mods woulda gotten me one helluva 5.0

I went from an 89 5.0 Notchback, to a 97 4.6. I like both cars. Yes the 5.0 is faster, but my 4.6 is still fast (an it's a vert! Yay! ) and will eventually be able to take the 5.0!

Well i bought my first 5.0 a few years ago. It was a 1991 Mustang GT, hatch. Blue with silver ground effects. 5 speed. I beat the hell out of that thing. It was my second Mustang, first being a 72' Mach 1. Second gear syncros were gone. I got a 14.9 at the drag way with it. Totally stock except Dynomax catback. I liked it, had a sunroof, clean. BUT, i got sick of it real quick. The seats were cloth and ugly. I didnt like the interior, i hate drum brakes, wicked easy to work on. BUT, it also had like 110,000 on it. The engine burned more oil than i wish to remember. I had to buy oil all the time, didnt feel like fixing the valve seals. I replaced the trans, i did some work to the engine, then i wanted to mod it, but i figured with that much milage, it wasnt worth it. I paid 2,000 for the thing. So i work at a dealership and one day an old man from florida come in and trades his 98 Gt, for a 98 Dodge Dakota R/t. The next day the used car manager ( He has wanted my 5.0 ever since i bought it) is sitting outside waiting for me. I looked at it and my favorite body is the 96-98. This thing had 28,000 miles. And i thought, Hmmm.. I should just buy this. So I told them i wasnt paying more than 9k for it. they frowned and said no. So i said ok, im not wasting my time, i work here and you want too much money. The next day the used car manager told me he wanted my car bad and i had the perfect opertunity to buy this 98. I said no way, you guys treat me like crap. So he said he could go 9k for it. I laughed and said i'll give you 8k for it. He said, i dunno and walked away. So later on that day he said ok. You buy this car for 8k, and you sell me youres. I said ok. I'll sell you mine for 2K. He cut me a check that day and i bought the 98 that day. So if it hadnt come in i would still be in my 5.0. I think i like the 4.6 better. Everything is newer, i get more compliments with this. I can mod the hell out of it, but again its a little harder to work on. I dont really like fords, ONLY because i work on them all day long and i see how poorly they are built. But to make this story short, i like my 4.6 much better.

Ive never owned a 5.0 but they are not as tempting to the ladies and there not as fast as the 4.6 I like the 4.6...

I've driven both and the 5.0 just feels better and is faster, but the 99+ 4.6 is awsome and qiucker in my opinion. Steeds MACH1 I know kicks a$$ because one of my employees has an 04 and I steal his keys all the time. That fugg'r gets the f**k move'n and handle damn good right out of the box, but I'd still mod the suspension on it but I'd leave everything else factory.

Out of owning 13 different ones i had 85, 87, 2/88, 91, 93 == 5.0 <<<<< and 2/98 === 4.6 and as you can tell which ones i liked the best but my 91 Ultra Blue Gt was my baby had her for 8 years and still regret getting rid of her :-(
