Default Brake Pads

Ok, so its time for new brake pads. Which kind should I get? I'm considering Hawk because they seem nice but if you have anything that you swear by, let me know. I just want a high performance brake pad thats going to stop my car quickly, im not very concerned about the life of the pad (as long as its more than 5k miles)

Default RE: Brake Pads

Like anything there it's a balance of performance, life and cost. So there is no one brake pad that will be perfect for everyone.

Since I know little about performance I can only offer one thing.

I always use ceramic pads because the rims stay cleaner longer and the dust they do leave behind is easy to clean.

Default RE: Brake Pads

I just changed the rear pads on my wifes 96' and I got Duralast Gold, they stop great and are suppose to wear well with a light dust to keep rims cleaner longer, they are about $35 for the pair. They also come with a lifetime warenty.

PS. You should purchase the universal Disk Brake Piston Rotating kit for $35 dollar from Autozone because it works with many other cars and is great to have around. You will need this tool to change the rear pads to turn the piston back in. (If you did not know that already.)

I have heard VERY VERY good things about GREENSTUFF pads too, but I didnt have enough time to send for them, I had a bracket piston break and *** the pad and rotor up. I would have gotten that pad if I had the time.
