Hey all,

I have a 89 LX 5.0 that starts to hum when i start it and i know its the fuel pump. I have heard that the pump humming is not a big deal, but in all cases i've seen that means the put is getting old and may konk out. Is that true?

 

sometimes....if im right ur fuel pump is quite old so id look into changing it. some pumps are just loud, and for others it means its time for a R and R of the fuel pump. how loud is the hum. mine hums and mines only 4 years old.

 

Its not terribly loud, but it is noticeable. I am planning upgrading the performce of my stocker, so i was thinking of doing a 255lph that way i dont have to upgrade again.
