Default Transmission Problem

Whats up forum? Thought I would ask you guys what you would do. Bought an awesome 1993 LX 5.0 vert back in August. Perfect condition. The only bad thing is that it's an automatic. Was driving fine until about a month ago. Shifts to first and second fine, when it trys to shift to 3rd gear it won't shift, or catch, and sounds like it's in neutral. I think I might have lost 3rd gear in my pony. But i'm hoping I don't need a new tranny. Is there anything I should check or do to the tranny to see if that fixes the problem? Your help would be much appreciated, Thanks in advance, Matt

Something that serious requires a shop, esp. w/ an auto, there's very little an owner can do....

Hey Vfast, it won't get through 3rd to go to 4th. All other gears work except for 3rd.

It really sounds like you need to take it to the shop for them to look at it.
