I wouldn't recommend a 4.6 motor. If your young and usually on a budget then I would get a 94-95 gt because they have the 5.0 HO engines in there the parts are easy to find and cheap if you ever had to so are the upgrades. Plus the compression and everything you can do with a 5.0 is so much wide of range.

Depending on how heavy my foot gets, Ive gone up to around 300 miles on a tank of gas. I think its pretty damn good myself.

EDIT: I was looking on www.KBB.com and current private party value on a 96GT with 80000 miles in good condition is 5,600. With that being said, you should easily be able to find a 96-98 GT with lower miles in good condition for your price range. The one I priced up was entry level (coupe will run around 2k cheaper than Vert) but it sounds like you dont care as long as you have a nice clean stang with a V8 and 5-speed! If you want the best deal, be patient and BUY FROM AND INDIVIDUAL (for sale by owner)! NOT DEALERSHIP! If you buy from a dealership, expect to pay at least 2-5K more (I know, Ive worked at one!). Like I said, be patient and explore the used car market in your area. Nothing will *** you over more than jumping the gun and buying a car without looking over it entirely and giving it serious thought! GOOD LUCK!

my 96 and 98 gts aure usually pushing about 350 miles on a full tank, when i fill up i usually put in about 13 or 14 gallons at the pump, so figure it out and thats my gas mileage, and yea im a 17 yr old kid so that will determine a little bit of ur driving style too

Oh well, theyre not for everybody I guess
But if you'd rather have the 94-98 body style
You could go with the 94/95
Basically all the Go Fast parts swap over.
