I have a 2000 Gt, i went outside and started my car this morning and i hear a almost like a static sound.. or like an elictrical spark sounds, comming from what i thought sounded likeunder my car. When i got to my destination abbout a mile away, there was no noise. Any Ideas?

 

Maybe some sort of arcing from the ignition system...?

 

could be an exhaust leak....

metal expands as it heats up and closes any gaps. Is it just when it's cold it does it?

 

Bad cat? A friend of mine had the same kind of noise but not on a stang. His problem was a cat going bad.

 

yea it only happens in the cold

 

Jack the car up & start it when it's cold. Crawl under (safely!!) when it's making the noise & pinpoint the source
