You don't understand how imcompetant mechanics are here locally. It's really so pathetic it's disgusting. Recently, my co-worker had a horrible miss in his Corvette, took it to a shop that EVERYONE recommends, they replaced his carb, distributor, ignition & fuel pump. Didn't fix a thing.

I convinced him to take it to my old engine builder and within 20 minutes he said "stuck valve. $600 to fix it" after he just spent $890 in repairs at the other shop.

$60 bucks in parts a 1 hour of labor @ $60. I would have paid him even more if he charged it. I'd do the work myself but I don't have the time to do it anymore. I'm so glad I found a good mechanic finally.

the labor charge was reasonable but the parts were way too much for just a seal and a tranny mount.

I used to work at a place that got 20% off parts at napa then charge them napa retail price not the net price if you walked off the street could get....I was there a few months.....man it pissed me off to no end..
