Mustering up some ideas...
Hey guys,
I have my 86 GT, some bolt ons, full exhaust shorty header, gears, removed EGR, smog ans A/C, shifter from turbo coupe (as if it helps), but anyway.
The drive train (not suspension) is done as far as I'm concerned with the gears and rebuilt T-5. The old girl has 140,000+ miles on the long block save for the timing chain. What I ultimately want to do is, run a turbo set up because it's different and, c'mon, it's cool. What I do know is that i still want to be some what streetable and get decent gas mileage. What I don't know what to do is either get a sweet short block from DSS CHP, etc...to handle boost and 5-600hp or build up the block I have now with all forged internals, zero balanced, yaddi yaddi yadda...both would have AFR heads of course, and I know about the fuel upgrades etc that need to be done also, not mention the suspension (different story). That's my first question.
Secondly, how radical an I get with speed density, and cheap!? I'm not sure If i want to do Mass air conv, h/c/i when it's all going to be done with a new motor+turbo. Thanks fellas.

check out this website for alternative to changing to mass air and keeping speed density. http://www.fuelairspark.com/
I would also recommend starting with a new block too.

Right! That's what I was thinking. I'm probably going to squeeze wat I can out of the tired CD engine while working to my ultimate goal. I know what I wnat the car to do, and that's half the battle, right?
