Default Snap, Crack, Pop, WTF?

My 96 Cobra is having an issue. When I turn the wheel sharply or brake moderately I hear a sound, a terrible sound. When turning my wheel I get a snap noise, when braking a get a loud crack, pop, pop noise. I have taken the driver front wheel off and can see that the tire is hitting the inner fenderwell by the tread pattern left from dust on it. The tires are stock size 245/45/17 and the only suspension mod is lowering springs put on by the previous owner. How do I fix this problem? Could it be the springs? Is there any adjustment I can make to get it to go away? Thanks in advance, this $hit is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!!

How far is your vehicle lowered? And yes it sounds very much like the springs. How many miles does the vehicle have? I had 100K on my old 96GT and I had that same problem. Turned out the noise I got from turning was a bad Rack and Pinion. The braking noise is prolly from the front tires rubbing the fenderwell or somthing may be in a bind. Jack up the front end and take a look, if the rack has any wets spots around the bushings then get ready to spend some money. As for the braking noise, like I said, Im not totaly for sure what that is so try to give us some more info on it.

What springs do you have in your car. Could be the front spring not setted in the perch correctly.
I really don't though can you give me more explanation.

Yeah, so I jacked it up and there are no wet spots, the car looks to be lowered around an 1 1/2" and the springs are Eibach. I called the previous owner and he said he had it checked by the dealership and nothing was wrong, but the sound is terrible and I know there is a problem. The tread marks on the top of the inner fenderwell lead me to believe it is hitting, but only in hard braking or turning lock to lock. The spring is seated right and I have stock tires so I don't know?????????? Its amazing how people can put 20" on Mustangs and not have a problem, but my 17" and lowering springs give me problems. Any adjustjment ideas? Thanks

when you brake hard it might be the tire caughting on the wheel well and maaking the noise..
