Default 1998 Engine swap from a V6 to V8

I want to turn my 1998 mustang V6 into a V8. What is the easiest way to do this? What type of engine and transmission would be best?

Easiest and best way is to sell your V6 and buy a GT

I understand that is the easiest way thing is my car is in good condition inside and out. There are not any nice used GT mustangs around here. So I want to just turn my V6 into a V8 just by swapping the motor and transmission and computer. So what would be the easiest motor to put in my car.

Buy a whole donar car, you will need just about everything from it.

Parts you will need

*K-member and suspension/brakes
*Engine DUH
*Trans DUH
*Cooling system
*Fog lights if you like them
*Wiring harness for the engine and trans
*Do the ABS conversion if you dont already have it
*Swap the master cyl (Check with Autozone first to make sure its not the same)
*Swap the guage cluster
*Swap the driveshaft
*Swap the rear end, suspension and brakes
*Swap the EEC
*Swap the Trac controll and buttons

Thats about it, as simple as it can get. Sell all of those old parts then and you can recoupe some of your money, not much though.

PS. It would be easier just to buy a GT and most are in great condition unless you are looking to spend less than $4500 bux.

Add another $1500 for a 98' GT.

Hell if you save up $12k you can get a Mach1 from Ebay. Terminator for only a few thousand more. There are some great deals to be had on ebay if you have the cash.

the cost will be alot, for a cheaper route you can
a.) get a motor out of a tbird supercoupe with a m90 on it, this will give you 200 rwhp and 300 rwft.lbs, a stock NPI makes less then that and you will run a solid 14 flat, and the motor will pretty much drop right in

b.) get a 4.2 out of an f150, drop it in and reuse your stock 3.8 upper intake manifold, it will drop right in

c.) useing either the 3.8 or the 4.2 and get an 11 psi procharger kit (from vmptuning.com) and you should get around 250 rwhp on a 3.8 and around 280 on a 4.2, do a split port head swap or port the single port heads and 300 rwhp is not out of the question, along with a cam, you stock internals will be fine

d.) 14 psi turbo kit from tmaturbo, good for 350+rwhp

all the above will require less work and come in at the same if not less then a v8 swap

That too is also a lot of money.

The M90 wont be a bad idea though. The 97-99 4.2L was a good engine and had a ton of potential with the early split port design and huge spider type intake. Note, the intake will not clear even a 3" cowl, a 4" or customized hood would be needed. The IAC is what is the highest, there are kits to relocate it.

www.SuperSixMotorsports.com can hook you up with a lot of good info if you want to stay a V6.

As for the GT swap I forgot to mention that I STRONGLY suggest getting the PI heads, Typhoon intake and large TB.
