Default small engines help

i just baught a old single seater cart today for 300, she ran great until it ran low on gas. i refilled it with fresh gas and now it will run but when you press the gas it stalls. the clutch is also giving me some issues, the cart has now developed a slight pull and will accelerate its self with out help.

im thinking rusty flywheel. what do yall think?

Do you mean a go-cart? What kind of engine is it? If it's a 2-stroke then I HOPE you mixed oil into the fuel

Carb may need to be cleaned out, may have some gunk in the jet or stuck in the bowl not letting the float work properly.

Clean out the carb and look into the gas tank.I'll bet it's got rust or some other gom in there thats managed to clog the fuel system somewhere.
The engine ran fine for a liitle while but as the jets,filter,or float valve filled up with crap,the engine finally quit.It was probably just a coincidence the gas ran out at the same time.
Clean off the flywheel if it's rusty.I'm figuring this is a magneto ignition?The rusty magnets won't give as good of a spark as clean ones will.A points change will also help performance if the engine has set for awhile.
