best year for the gt.
New is not really better. I have a 67 fastback that is like new it is now 36 years old do you think many mustangs of today will last that long. I work for ford and fix the new cars day in and day out. I will admitt the run good and handle well but they are built to break not last. The quality is out and quantity is in. I drive a new 2002 4.6 gt and I know it will out perform my 67 289 4v fastback. I also know it will not out last my 67. So I will have to say 67 gt 390 kicks ***. slower older and handles like a little red wagon oh well It has my vote.
i know theyre not built to last...how else would people want to buy new cars? also, the transformation from metal to plastic is causing durbaility issues. more technology is more to get f**ked.

Sooo true I have seen brand new contours that have never left the dealership lot have dashes warped so bad from the sun that they had to be replaced befor it was ever sold. Now thats crappy plastic. The cowls on the newer mustangs are also having a problem warping when sitting out in the sun. Its all about making cars lighter and more fuel efficent.

Ford will never beat the 64 to 73 mustangs. But I can't afford a older mustang so I had to go newer. Not that I'm dissappointed it's nice. But I miss the old real musle cars!

Alot of the newer mustangs are very strong and can out perform the older mustangs. But when they start building the big power from the factory like they did in the late 60's and early 70's. Then I'll call them musle cars again!
