Default Hood prop for shows

I installed MRT hood struts to replace the factory rod, now it opens even farther. []I need to find something to let me open the hooda few feetfor the car shows, but also has hooks on the ends so the wind cant blow it open. Does anyone know if they make such a thing or do I need to do some brainstorming?

Default RE: Hood prop for shows

Well I would go get a prop rod from the salvage (junk) yard thenfigure out what length you want then you could then cut the bottom endthen heat it up with a torch and stick it in bench vice and bend the 90 angle into it to remount intothe base/radiator cover. Viola you still have your hook on the end. You would still have the Factory prop rod for backup if you ever wanted to return to stock
