Default Collision

Hello all,

My sister crashed her car into my '07 Stang and damaged the rear panel on the passenger side and scratched my passenger door. I was wondering if having this on my vehicle history could hurt the resell value of the car?

If you dont go thru insurance it wont show up. If you go to trade it in let the dealer find out on their own. I would only be concerned if there is or wasframe damage. Fixed properly you will never know it was hit. It also takes alot to scare me away...

Good to here. However, since she can't afford it, she's going through her insurance, so I'm pretty sure there is no way to avoid it showing up (unless you happen to know something I don't ).

My mothers car has been wrecked 4 times 3 previous owner She is 58 and just had her first accident this past year. But any way none of them have shown up on a carfax report. I ran one a couple of months ago when I was buying my truck. I dont know if it needs to be a certain dollar amount or not. I also fixed frame damage & complete left front suspension three years agoon a freinds car, Ins. related and that didnt hit either. I think its just a crap shoot on this one. Good luck with this.

Also, should I get it fixed at an authorized Ford center or should I just get it done at one of my local body shops?

Talk to people and see who they recommend in your area. Word of mouth goes a long way in this buisness. It is illegal for an ins. company to force you to go to one their shops. It is your vehicle and you have the rightto go where you choose. They call this steering work and they try to because their shops usually do it a discount for them and remember you get what you pay for. When it comes to paint and body if you can get done real cheap make sure you paint it white.............
