Installing Door Lock Actuator

Installing Door Lock Actuator
I recently picked up a new pair of power door lock actuators. Both came premounted to a plastic piece and it would look as if the actuators can be popped out of those plastic pieces. My question is, can i pop the old ones out (just the actuator while leaving the plastic mount installed) and then snap the new ones in thier place, all without drilling the rivets in the door? Or is everything arranged such that its easier just to drill the rivets? I havent had my door panels off in forever so i forget what its like in there.
And which rod do i use for the actuator? Mine came with about a dozen per side in various lengths.
Ifi have to drill , my stepdad has the tools. Just looking for a less invasive way to do it if possible.
Thanks.

RE: Installing Door Lock Actuator
if its the same as my 99 then it sucks to get off but its easy as hell to pu on. it kinda slides out but its also kinda locked in place. i used force to yank mine out on both sides then the new one just slid and popped in.
