Default Adjusting your clutch

As some of you may know i just picked up a 98 cobra about a month ago. Was reading the book on how to adjust the clutch, it said to just pull up on the pedal so i did. I didnt hear a click or anything but it comes up about an inch or two, but does not stay in place?

Do you want the clutch disengagment point up higher on the pedal? If that is what you're after, then what you need is to replace the hydrolic clutch with a cable, after which you can set the disengagment point whereever you want it. If you do this, replace the crappy plastic quadrant with a billet piece. The plastic quadrant is a piece of ****. As far as ajdusting the clutch pedal stock, you are doing everything right except maybe pulling the pedal aside a little before pulling back on it. This hardly makes any 'real' adjustment at all. For big adjustments get a manual cable.

i thought it had to be in 1st gear when you do that? That's what my book said, don't know if it would make any difference.
