well, buying a V8 car is what u should have done, but it is a little late for that. atleast ur in the right mindset to get a real engine in there instead of modding a ***** v6. a lot of this depends on whether u want to go carbed or efi. im pretty sure you will have to go efi because if it is a 98 it is obdII and you need all that sh*t to pass emissions (unless u dont have emissions testing in ur state). the other option is how much power you want, and if u want it NA or with a power adder. answer those questions and we can go from there.
yeah i agree i should have bought a v-8 but i couldn't beat the deal of 2k for the car...well the good thing is, is that i can put one in.. see i'm so used to the old cars, they have room for everything including the kitchen sink... as far as HP goes.. 400 maybe, give or take... one kinda of kit would i need to put in a 5.8L? also what kinda of trans and rear end would i need to also to go with the engine swap..... i live in Indiana.. so i don't know if i have emissions over here... i've only been here for alittle while...
thanks again for taking the time to reply...

well, if u are very persistant about putting the V8 in there (you could sell it and buy another one, or just use this one as a beater/dd), hers what u need to do. you are prolly gonna do an EFI engine (emissions). Therefore, you will need the proper wiring harness and ECU for the engine you plan on puttin in. you will also need a good strong tranny for it. auto or manual? we can give some good options for you. you will also need an 8.8 (or 9") rear end. it is stronger than the one in the v6. you will also need a compete exhaust for it. if u want to do the 5.8, you will need swap headers, oil pan, and maybe motor mounts (not sure). You might need a new radiator as well, someone correct me if im wrong. basically, its a sh*tload of work and money.
