cutting your shifter..
the length isn't what makes the stock shifter suck (well its part of it) ... its the rubbery feeling and aftermarket shifters usually have shift stops to protect the shift fork / tranny and help guide the shifter to 3rd gear for more positive shifts
well i got a hurst shifter with a stock t-5 handle shorten and it has a great feel but it is just temporary for now, pro 5.0 in a couple of weeks after i order a bigger cam and intake
I don't see anything wrong with it...It will give you a shorter throw, and a different feel, but i dont see it helping to much performance wise. By no means is it as good as just getting a good brand short throw shifter.
