Default Where to mount MSD 6AL?

I bought the 6AL a little bit ago. I was looking in my engine bay and I cant find a place to put it. A mechanic I know suggested running the wires through the firewall and mounting it on the passenger side on the fioor or above it a little bit. I was thinking about just getting a battery relocating kit and mounting the battery in the trunk. Any ideas???

You can't find room on your firewall? before all that work re-mounting a battery why not just re-locate some of the parts on the firewall... extend some wires and vacuum hoses if you have to - thats what I'd do.

heres how i mounted mine. i had to make a custom mounting plate from sheet metal though.
i was worried about over heating it but after a 45 minute drive i can still open the hood right up and hold my bare hand on the box so you know its not that hot. i think the fan spinning so close keeps it cool.

id do the battery relocation if you dont want it in the engine compartment. while your at it, put in a engine kill switch at the bumper

I mounted mine inside the car on the hump under the AC control panel and the power wire from the MSD just was long enough to reach the hot side of the starter solenoid for its power connection. run the wires out throught the grommet where the speedo cable is and use the MSD wiring kit for 5.0's and you'll be ins business with no splicing of wires either.

I monnted mine on the pass. side engine compartment under the CAI. if you have a cai you can make a plate and tech screw it to the body directly under the cai. this is oppisite the battrery in the engine compartment. plate will need to be fabbed.

1. make plate
2. mount rubber mounting legs
3. attach plate to body
4. follow MSD ins.

I would get a rear seat delete kit and mount it right where you said. On the passegers side right in front of the back seat area. Or i would just put the battery in the back and put in where the battery was. OB's fit like it was supposed to be there.
